| How it Works ? |
OSWI certified installation technicians install a wireless microwave type device on or near the customer roof. The wireless device, or Subscriber Unit (SU), must be aligned or aimed back to a local OSWI base station. The installation crew will install a Cat5 cable from the SU to the customer suite. A standard Ethernet hand-off is provided to connect directly to the customer LAN or firewall. OSWI monitors, manages and maintains the wireless device.
We provide service to home offices, small, medium, and large commercial businesses, city government, police and fire departments. All OSWI.net service plans are backed by our 100% service guarantee. OSWI has a coverage area of over 120,000 square miles, and that area is expanding constantly. One Stop Wireless Inc. founded in June of 2003 by Dan Laue CEO and Mark Hommel CFO.
Laue with 14 Years experience in the Retail, Wholesale, and Customer Service sector for the Wireless Paging and Cellular Phone Marketplace providing services to Southern California and Hommel with over 20 Years of Marketing, Sales, and New Home construction experience in the Southern California Marketplace, set course on a Mission to provide Wireless Broadband to all of Southern California.
Laue began his hunt to assemble the best possible Team to make it happen. Naming Rick Schauer as Network Expansion Manager, Roy Abshire as Director of Information Technology, Wayne Mueller as Project Manager, Donna Biroczky as Policy Director, Leonard Rivas as Director of Sales & Marketing, and Tara Schauer as Office Manager.
The search began to find a Corporate location to not only run our operation but could support multiple Fiber Feeds to the Internet Backbone. After searching for many weeks it was decided that The City Of Ontario would become home to Oswi.net, now the real work began setting up offices, phone lines, fiber internet feeds, building a microwave tower, equipment rooms and more.
Our team began to assemble and install our Wireless Network and after almost one year of construction we have built what we believe to be the best Wireless Broadband Network in Southern California and Definitely the most complex Wireless Network in America due to the vast amount of mountain ranges throughout the region. We have worked Day and Night for nearly 360 days straight installing, testing and uninstalling many sites due to lack of coverage or lack of microwave line of site to get the best results, we have installed Microwave hops over many mountaintops and desert prairies to get service to remote areas.
We now in just a very short time have grown a reputation of being the most reliable Wireless Broadband Provider in the region, and the Highest Rated Internet Provider in the Nation as reported on BroadbandReports.com, we have computer consultants from all areas of the country recommending their clients to use only our service, we have been chosen by KB Home, D.R. | How It All Began! |
For many years the Founder and CEO Dan Laue worked from a home office living in the community of Fontana in an area called Hunters Ridge.
When Internet access was becoming important for Home Office users and Residential Broadband was released, but the Phone Company and the Cable Company left all residents in Northern Fontana in the cold. With broken promises of broadband almost weekly, Dan set out to share internet service with his best friend and now business colleague Rick Schauer, Dan being a business owner and having the need for remote monitoring of his retail stores had installed a T-1 connection at $1200.00 per month, which gave him direct access to the Internet, Dan could jump on the Internet through it at high speeds.
Now the challenge was getting Rick access on Dan’s connection since they were about 10 houses apart, they considered running a Cat5 cable along the back wall all the way down the street but could you imagine what the neighbors would say? Dan knew that commercial warehouses had wireless scanners and other devices that could reach pretty large distances. So he purchased equipment called Intermec, which is primarily used for warehouses with wireless scan guns, then Dan installed the equipment on his house using a modified cable soldered to the board of the Intermec device run to the roof and connected it to a 2.4Ghz antenna which was made for indoor use. Then he installed a 2.4Ghz Wireless card with again a modified antenna cable soldered to the board in Rick’s computer and ran an antenna to the roof.
Internet for Rick became a reality when the first Internet Page opened at Lightening Speed at least for the slow computer he had at the time. By now all the neighbors became curious what the antennas were for and after finding out what it did Dan had people knocking down his door wanting to get in on the fast internet service.
This is the part where you come in because of this real life situation the vision of One Stop Wireless Inc. became reality just shortly after 1 Year of Dan Laue running this small community internet from his Wireless retail business nearby and a tower on top of his house that can be seen for miles. One Stop Wireless Inc. has invested nearly 2 Million Dollars into our Network comprised of Motorola Canopy Wireless Equipment and Cisco Routers and Switches. We now provide service under the name of Oswi.net and have over 25 tower site locations that reach a coverage area of over 15 miles each in all directions, which total more than 120,000 square miles and we are here to provide you with Wireless Broadband.
